WebP support for GD and IMagick
Sync latest database from server
Would be really helpful if we can fetch/sync latest database from/to the live server.
Change the name!
“Local” is a terrible name for a web software product for these reasons: It’s confusing to talk with support about “My local site (could mean a wide range of things)” vs “My Local (the program) site” It’s impossible to google for general help “Local site not working” “Can’t upload local site” is useless in terms of specificity. No way to tell google you’re referring to Local the program The word “local” seems to interfere with some Apple Bonjour networking stuff, which natively uses “.local” I’ve heard of and had problems making things work properly for that reason alone, specifically with external services like liveReload and CodeKit not being able to play nicely with “mywebsite.local” It needs a unique, google-able name. It’s in branding limbo now, being a former Flywheel product that’s still branded to match Flywheel, that now works (sort of) with WP Engine but has no WPE branding. At some point it needs a heavy identity rethink, and that would be the perfect time to change the name!
Quick access to logs
Right-clicking the site should have a quick way to access the logs folder for the site.
Use site favicon in sidebar
The favicon could make sorting through sites much easier. Local could cache the current theme path and whether a favicon exists there or was set in WordPress.

Make DB dump optional on site stop

It would be great if you didnt have to manually open and start the program and sites every time you turn on your computer. Provide options to start LocalWP when Windows starts. Provide option per site to start when LocalWP starts.
Remove host entry when stopping site
Please remove the hosts entries when I stop the site again, or at least, give me an option to do so. I might re-build a website with Wordpress and decide to use the live domain on my local instance, too. If the entry in my hosts file won't be deleted, automatically, I have to edit the hosts file on my own just to access the old live page, again.
More PHP, MySQL, MariaDB versions
Hi love Local ! ... but I miss the ability to test updates for outdated client's websites. Sometimes servers doesn't have the last PHP version and we cannot anticipate an possible incompatibility. I would love to install custom PHP & DB versions. Now for exemple I want to try PHP 7.0.33 and MySQL 5.6.50 but I cannot. Maybe let us just upload manually a custom version ? I saw a lot of people interested by that feature : @rowatt : https://localwp.com/community/t/support-more-php-versions/94 , and https://localwp.com/community/t/installing-different-php-versions/519 @mrtorbert : https://localwp.com/community/t/additional-php-versions/1165 @Heliotropen : https://localwp.com/community/t/mysql-php-versions-supported/19683 @japiera : https://localwp.com/community/t/install-additional-php-versions/19455 @amanuensis : https://localwp.com/community/t/php-and-mysql-version-installs/15390 Make Local even more Amazing ! ❤️
